Reflections of Garrett

This past week my sister reminded me of how the 4th of July was one of Garrett's favorite holidays. Watching the beutiful slide show she put together brough my suppressed emotions to the surface and let the flood gates pour in. I think it was good for me to have a good cry becuase I've buried it for a long time being brave about all the other stresses and hardships going on in my life I don't think I can bare to let my emotions show of the pain and mourning that occasionally creeps in my heart about my best bud Garrett. I think some of my best memories of him were when we would find all the ways we could to scare my mom or dad with snaps and the twisty tie snaps. My favorite memory of him as a child was when Chrystal was a big girl now, and went to Kindergarten, and I had to now find a new friend. He became my new best Bud and has been ever since that day. We played cars and trucks and little guys and pretended we were the last 2 people left on the earth and it was up to us to stay alive. Pretty funny but very dear to my heart. I am so greatful for the atonement and my knowledge and faith of being reunited with my best bud some day. I am so gratful I had the special time with Garrett and Daniel when they came down the August before his death. It makes me reflect on how precious and fragile life is and how much I love my beutiful babies and wonderful husband. They are the light of my life and Jared is my heart and soul and life can throw all its got at me but I know I have all I need to find true hapiness amongst it all. I hope you all can enjoy reflecting back on a wonderful young man's life and what he means to me. Love you Garrett!

Brooklyn discovers her Toes

Brooklyn has discovered her toes and has decided they are her #1 favorite toy. She also has discovered they are a nice teethy toy as well. Such cute milestones I just love this age!

Tyler and his Cars

Tyler has really discovered the joys of Cars and Trucks. His most favorite things to do are digging up rocks and putting them in his Dump Truck, playing with his small lightning Maqueen car or, taking all his match box cars, ambulences, fire trucks, etc. and lining them all up as if they are in traffic all gathered together. Today in church he spent the whole hour lining about 15 of them up one by one and driving them into a cluster, then turning them each around and driving them all to the other end of the bench and then back again. over and over and over. He spent another hour or so doing the same thing this afternoon at home after church. It was so cute I had to take a few pictures.

Try'n to Stay Cool

Here are just a few pictures recently taken. Most of which are our efforts of trying to stay cool. For FHE last week Jared got the hose out and sprayed down Morgan and Tyler in their clothes after our family walk. I thought they'd be sad at first, but they loved it! This was definitely Dad's idea of Fun!

HOT HOT HOT!

It is SUPER HOT these days. So me and the kids basically spend the whole afternoon either begging to go to my neighbors pool, or wading in our Kiddy pool Ghetto Style in the front yard. Hooray for water. Its our life saver in this heat!

Kids Say the Darndest Things

So a little preface to my cute tylerism...... I workout each morning for about 30-45 min. Usually my stationary bike or treadmill. I like to listen to music while I workout to get me pumped up, and let the kids play around me in the garage while I do it. Well often Morgan and Tyler fight, or talk to me while I am exercising and often I have to tell them, "I can't hear you with my headphones on, gotta work it out together." So.... today I was asking Tyler to not take the bike into the house, he was insistant that he bring it in, and I asked him again not to bring the bike into the house... well he yelled at me saying " I CAN'T HEAR YOU MOM, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" I was cracking up because he could hear me he just didn't want to because he knew I didn't want him to bring the bike in. In analyzing his comment, I found it hilarious that from his perspective he must feel whatever he was asking me or telling me while I had head phones on, was something I didn't want him to do or say and thats why I didn't do anything to help him and my way of stopping him or preventing him was to say " I can't hear you." Little Buddy... so smart yet still not quite smart enough. hahaha

Hang'n around the House

Our Little Artist

So this is a picture Morgan decided to draw this week of our family. We had to post it since her drawings have now advanced from big heads with arms coming out of them, to bodies, faces, and features like hair. My favorite is Tyler's hair because it specifically has curls. When I asked her what the circles on grandma and grandpa were, she said matter of factly, "their bellies." I asked her where my and daddy's was, and she said she was pretending that we don't have them. I then proceeded to agree that was a good idea, and that I pretend all the time that I don't have a belly! Ha Ha Ha she didn't get it, but I had a good laugh. Morgan is our little artist and usually has a new drawing every day. Daddy got a very special one of just her and him together on Father's Day! Nothing better than KID art!

GRADUATION DAY

Morgan made it! One successful year of "JOY SCHOOL" Preschool. She really loved her preschool this year. It was a group of 5 little girls all within about 6months of age. They got along quite well, and learned many new things together. They enjoyed crafts, books, pupets, writing, games, "free play time," and so much more. WAY TO GO MORGAN! What a big girl!

Snip Snip, Cut Cut

So we finally gave in, I decided to cut the locks. Yup His curls are gone. I did leave a few on the top but its short everywhere else. He was getting so hot with summer aproaching, I dedided it was time. His head seems smaller now that the fullness from all the fluff is gone, but I think he looks extra cute and clean cut, and older.

Happy Father's Day

Jared is the best Daddy and Husband that we could ever hope for. I love how often he gets down on the floor and plays with our kids.Their favorite is to climb on him like a horse and get bucked around. It makes them so happy.

I am so grateful for all that Jared does around the house to help keep up with 3 kids, and willing after a busy stressful day of work, to still take the time to help do bed-time routines with each child, You are truly Amazing. Happy Father's Day!
