Exercise woes!

Last Resort to get the final 5 minutes in of my work-out.

Tyler mad at me for not helping him move his car.
Brooklyn crying because she can't reach me on the treadmill.

Brooklyn making her way on her own to get to me on the treadmill

I now fully understand why mom's either exercise at the gym or just accept the baby fat they've gained because there are way too many days that working out is a JOKE! Things always start out happy and fine, each child entertaining themselves as I start my daily work-out, but never fails the chain reaction begins usually about 10 minutes into it once I get my heart rate going. One child gets going then the next one is crying, and then comes the yelling and arguing between Morgan and Tyler. Then I ask why oh why do I try. So I write to you bloggers out there asking does anyone else go through this but still persist? Still keep pushing through the screaming and crying and fighting? Just so you can drop a pound or two or de-stress? I ask you does it de-stress you? Or does it cause more stress? Some days I'm not quite sure. But in the end I must say to you all YES! I keep trying, keep going, keep persisting. I know that having a healthy me, makes me happy and feel better about myself. The better I feel about me the better I can be to them, and the better I can be to them, the happier they are overall..... even if it means an awful 30 minutes while mommy gets in her workout!

Oh, I hear you. Once I was doing a video and I'm on the floor doing leg lifts and sit-ups and both girls are crawling all over me. I have to leave my house to REALLY get a work out. Good luck.

I feel your pain. My kids are playing fine until I start exercising and then it is all about mom. Keep it up though. I just workout regardless and remind myself that some just won't always be as good as others, or as relaxing (after all relaxing is ME time).

Whew -- I know this dilemma all too well. I too keep persisting - I usually wait till they've been bathed and fed and leave them to cartoons for my 30 minutes - whether on a video in my bedroom or while running up and down the stairs. I'm too cheap to go to a gym and I decided it is actually a perk of being a SAHM - I can shower whenever I get through!! (Be it 9 a.m. or 11!!) Way to show your kids that exercise is important! I do notice a difference in my energy and mental health so I'm a believer.

Rachelle, you are an inspiration. I take for granted how tough it is to get in your workouts with babies because i get paid to teach group fitness AND i get free child care while i teach. It requires an obscene amount of energy to just motivate yourself to workout in the first place, much less with your sweet babies pulling out their sour faces when you want to get it done! Don't give up! I'm enormously impressed!! You go girl!!

hahah I love the pictures... They (eventually) will get used to it after they get used to the routine. It does take a lot of patience in the mean time but I know it can be done cuase Aidhee did it (and you know she has a lot of kids =). She sends them to their room or backyard to play while she does her thing.
Keep it up; si se puede =).

Oh how dedicated you are Rachelle. You are like the "energizer bunny".....you just keep going regardless of the challenges. Keep charging forward.

Love ya.
